Client Action Plans

Welcome to the Client Action Plans dashboard. This page allows you to design, customise, and manage structured dietary, exercise, and lifestyle roadmaps for your clients. You can build tailored strategies completely from scratch or utilise advanced AI to generate comprehensive plans based on your client's unique profile and requirements.

1. Create a Plan From Scratch

This section guides you through manually building a highly tailored strategy, giving you complete control over every piece of nutritional advice and health recommendation.

1
Initialise the Manual Plan

Navigate to the specific client's profile page, click on the Action Plans tab, then click the “+ Create from scratch” button located at the top right. This opens a fresh, empty workspace where you can build your custom strategy.

Build the Meals Section
Under the Meals heading, structure your client's daily nutritional intake. You can add general recommendations or break the day down by clicking Add Option under specific meal categories such as Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Snacks. Fill in the specific food items along with their respective macronutrient values (Carbs, Protein, and Fat). You can easily attach a complete recipe to any meal item by clicking the "Choose recipe" button.

When you click "Choose recipe", a search window will appear with three tabs to help you find exactly what you need:
  • Team: Browse through recipes created by you or saved by your team members.
  • Nurish:Search within Nurish's comprehensive internal recipe database.
  • Fat Secret: Access an extensive external database containing thousands of ready-made recipes.

Outline the Routine and Supplement Sections

Fill in the dedicated fields for each lifestyle module:

  • Exercise Plan: Input the specific activity, duration, frequency, intensity, and any additional notes.
  • Sleep Recommendations:Outline targeted guidance for sleep duration, quality, and schedules.
  • Supplement Recommendations: Detail the specific item names, dosages, optimal timing, and clinical purposes.
4
Add Custom Sections

If you need to expand the plan further, click the Add New Section dropdown menu at the bottom to introduce specialised modules like Monitoring, Attachment, and Additional Notes.

5
Customise with Additional notes

Use the built-in rich text editor to build clear, professional layouts for your notes. You can apply standard formatting (bold, italic, underline), structure data with headings and bullet points, adjust alignment, and embed tables, images, or hyperlinks. Additionally, you can insert saved Clipboard text directly into the plan editor.

6
Save Your Progress

Once you are satisfied with your manual entries, click the Save and Edit Later button at the top right of the screen to secure your work without immediately publishing it to the client.

Tip: Always remember to click "Save and Edit Later" when building a plan from scratch, as manual plans do not auto-save. Conversely, if you use the AI generator, the system will automatically save the generated content as a "draft" the moment it is successfully created, allowing you to safely leave the page and return to edit it later.
2. Generate Plan with AI

Use our integrated AI engine to save time and streamline your clinical workflow. This feature automatically compiles your client's body measurements, nutritional targets, intake form inputs, clinical records, and lifestyle activity data to generate a complete, data-driven, and highly customised plan.

1
Launch the AI Generator
Navigate to the specific client's profile page, click on the Action Plans tab, click the Generate with AI button at the top right to open the automated setup wizard.
2
Set the Core Objectives
Review the Current General Data pulled directly from the client’s profile metrics. Next, select their primary clinical or lifestyle milestone under What is the goal?:
  • For Weight Loss or Muscle Gain, fill in the Target Weight and Plan Duration.
  • For Weight Maintenance, select this option if the client wants to maintain their current weight.
  • For Other, select this option to address specific medical nutrition therapies or complex health targets. Click the Goal dropdown list to choose a tailored focus across these specialised categories:
    • Digestive Tract Health (e.g., managing constipation, diarrhoea, bloating and gas, or acid reflux/GERD).
    • Chronic Conditions Care (lifestyle-related protocols).
    • Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT).
    • Autoimmune Conditions (responsive to targeted nutrition therapy).
    • Food intolerances and sensitivities.
    • Healthy Aging and Longevity.
    • Women's Health.
    • Enhance Athletic Performance.
    • Common Nutrient Deficiencies.
    • Paediatric nutrition.

Review the Practitioner Audit Log

Once the plan is successfully generated, an Audit panel will appear at the top of the Generated Plan workspace.

Note: This section is exclusively visible to the practitioner and is never shared with the client. Review this panel to evaluate clinical reasoning and validation metrics:

  • Confidence Rating: Displays a percentage score reflecting the AI's alignment with the provided data.
  • Reasoning Summary:  A concise breakdown explaining why specific macronutrient deficits or dietary structures were chosen.
  • Provenance: Tracks the exact source materials utilised to construct the plan (e.g., client form answers, meeting notes, ADIME notes, or activity tracking).
  • Citations: References official, evidence-based guidelines (such as NICE guidelines or peer-reviewed dietary evidence) that underpin the recommendations.
  • Warnings & Assumptions: Highlights potential lifestyle risks (e.g., caffeine impacts on sleep) and clinical boundaries assumed safe for the protocol.

Modify and Fine-Tune Sections

Scroll past the Audit block to review and customise the client-facing plan components. The platform gives you complete flexibility to edit, reorder, or delete any generated asset:

  • Action Plan & Macronutrients: Review the core objectives and the automated macronutrient distribution breakdown.
  • Meals & General Recommendations: Refine the daily nutritional setup by adjusting general guidelines or altering the generated options for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks.
  • Lifestyle Cards: Customise the specific targets generated within the "Exercise Plan", "Sleep Recommendations", and "Supplement Recommendation" blocks.
  • Expand or Attach Files:Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the "Add New Section" dropdown menu to insert your own custom rich text blocks or add an "Attachment" for the client.

Note: If any section or specific meal choice is no longer relevant while editing, you can easily remove it by clicking the corresponding "Delete Section" or "Delete Item" button within that specific block.

7
Publish or Save as Draft

Click Share with Client to publish it immediately, or choose Save and Edit Later to convert it to a draft and make manual adjustments before the client sees it.

Tip: Make sure to double-check the Current General Data before clicking generate. If metrics like weight or height are showing as zero, click the Edit Current Data button to populate them first, ensuring the AI produces highly accurate calculations.
3. Plan Status and Actions

Use this section to monitor all past plans you have created for your client. You can quickly see which plans are live, keep track of unfinished drafts, and use the action buttons to print or update them.

1
Identify the Plan Status
Locate the colour-coded badges next to each plan date on your main dashboard to understand its current visibility:
  • Sent to client (Green Badge): The plan is finalised, live, and fully accessible by the client on their portal.
  • Draft, open to continue editing (Purple Badge):The plan is currently a work in progress and hidden from the client.
2
Expand and Inspect a Plan
Click the downward-pointing arrow on the far right of any plan row. This expands the card view, revealing all the plan's components.
3
Modify existing Plans
Click the Edit Plan button on the right side of the expanded view. This will take you directly to the editing workspace.

4
Execute Document Actions
Within the expanded card, you can use the action utilities to manage the plan's distribution:
  • Click Save as PDF to download a clean, printable copy of the layout for offline archiving or physical handover.
  • Click Resend to Client to send an updated notification or re-share a previously sent plan.
  • Click the Green Trash Icon if you need to permanently remove a plan. Please note that this icon is only active for draft plans; it is completely disabled for live plans that have already been shared with the client.
Tip: For draft plans that have never been sent, the "Resend to Client" button will appear greyed out and inactive until the plan is formally published for the first time via the editing workspace.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Can my client see a plan while I am still editing it?
No. Your client can only see a plan if it has a green Sent to client badge. If it has a purple Draft badge, it is completely hidden from them, allowing you to make changes in private until you are ready to share it.
Where does the recipe data come from when I choose a recipe?
The system searches three distinct areas to find exactly what you need. It browses your Team library, which contains your own saved recipes and those created by your team colleagues. It also searches within the verified, comprehensive internal Nurish library of health-focused recipes. And accesses Fat Secret, which is a massive external database containing thousands of everyday commercial meals and global ingredients.
Will the client see the internal AI Audit summary?
No. The Audit section (which includes the AI confidence score, reasoning details, scientific citations, and safety warnings) is strictly for practitioners. It is entirely hidden on the client portal.
Can I mix AI generation with manual writing?
Yes, absolutely. You can use Generate with AI to quickly build the core framework of a plan, and then freely type into any text box, swap meals, delete sections, or add custom components manually before sharing it.
Troubleshooting & Common Issues
Issue: The AI generated an inaccurate plan with the wrong calorie counts or targets. How I fix this.
Potential Solution: You do not need to rewrite the entire plan. Simply open the plan in the editing workspace, go down to the Action Plan section, and double-click directly on any specific metric field (such as the weekly weight loss/gain rate or the daily caloric deficit/surplus value). You can then override the AI's initial calculations instantly.
Issue: the "Resend to Client" button is greyed out and unclickable.
Potential Solution: The Resend to Client button is only functional for plans that have already been published at least once. If the plan is still a fresh draft, you first need to click Edit Plan and formally publish it using the Share with Client button.
